The Secretariat for the Service of the Faith is re-establishing the CIS conferences on Ignatian Spirituality. In the past, these have provided an important opportunity for scholars and practitioners to spend time exploring the riches of Ignatian Spirituality and the foundational texts of the Society. The first will be held in Rome, at the General Curia, in June.

The Formula of the Institute
“A Pathway to God”, Experience, Vision, Mission
Rome 12th-14th June 2023.
Fr General has proposed the Formula of the Institute as the topic. It is mainly aimed at Conference Presidents, Spirituality Delegates, Novice Masters, and Tertian Maesters. We very much hope you will consider participating.
Themes and topics will include :
• The importance of the Formula for today. (R.P. Arturo Sosa. General of the Society)
• The origins and development of The Formula re. other early Ignatian Sources.
• The mystical dimension of the Formula: a way to God.
• The defense and propagation of the Faith then and now.
• The structure of the Society – a discerning body in mission.
• Campaigning for God under the Pope.
• The 4th Vow its origins and place in the Formula and Constitutions.
• The significance of the ministries (§1) and their continued relevance.
• Formula §4: ‘Moved by the Holy Spirit’
The colloquium will also offer opportunities to meet together with other Ignatian scholars and practitioners in discussion groups and workshops.
The working languages will be English and Spanish with translation.
