Towards a theology of Ignatian Prayer is one of the introductory essays in the second volume of an important three volume project, Oración Ignaciana in the distinguished Manresa series published by Universidad Pontifical Comillas and Grupo de Communicación Loyola. The principal editor for Volume I is Prof. José García de Castro and for volume II  Prof. De Castro and Dr. Hung Pham SJ. All three volumes assemble an international team of jesuit scholars and other experts.

Volume 1, Maestros, is an original study of ‘masters’ of jesuit prayer through the centuries, from Ignatius to Teilhard de Chardin, Rahner, Arrupe, and Card. Carlo Martini. It also features two original essays on the teaching of General Congregations on Prayer.  Volume 2, Métod, assembles a similar international community of scholars to explore central themes of the Spiritual Exercises and Volume 3, Prática, Oración Ignaciana y mundo de hoy, to be published in 2026, will deal with various  contemporary approaches to giving the Exercises. Together the three volumes constitute a major contribution to both the study and practice of the Spiritual Exercises and the dynamism of Ignatian spirituality. They will be an invaluable source for scholars, formators and practitioners alike.
